Retired Award - Cadette Dreams to Reality

This is a retired Girl Scout award.

Retired awards are still able to be earned, but are not officially part of the current Girl Scout program. Limited quantities available.

Dreams to Reality was part of the Cadette program from the 1960s to the early 2000s. This is the later version of the award.

To earn the Dreams to Reality award, Girl Scout Cadettes needed to complete 5 of the following requirements.

- Select and complete two career-related activities from any of the Cadette badges

- Find out about at least 5 different careers. Identify the type of education or training required and the salary range.

- Spend a day at work with someone who has a job in a field you're interested in. Discuss job responsibilites and note how time on the job is spent.

- Research two career fields in which women are not the majority.

- Interview three mothers who have full-time jobs. Find out how they balance their jobs and families, how they came to be in their current positions, and what their future dreams are.

- Collect several advertisements or job listings for at least three different positions that interest you. Compare the ads to get a general profile of each position.
