As of October 1, 2026, Journeys are officially retired. Girl Scouts may still earn Journey awards, but they are no longer being produced and will no longer fulfill the prerequisite requirements for the Highest Awards. We have extremely limited quantities of Journey books and awards available while supplies last.

In this Journey, you will:

1. Find out what animals need and how to care for them—go on nature walks to observe animals; visit a farm, zoo, or animal shelter; or create an animal sculpture.

2. Plan a Take Action project that teaches others how to care for animals.

3. Earn 3 leadership awards: Birdbath Award, Red Robin Award, and Tula Award. If you're a Girl Scout volunteer, go to Volunteer Toolkit for complete meeting plans and activity instructions.
